PowerBook Mute Startup

This tip: macosxhints - Mute the startup sound using a logout hook reminds me of a favorite, but little-known, PowerBook trick.

You can mute the startup sound by holding down the Mute key, when pressing Power. Or, if you are just restarting, press Mute then go ahead and restart.

This is much easier, but less geeky, than the script and LoginWindow hook that Mac OS X Hints provides.
