Once again, I find myself compelled to "enhance" the crediting of an article in The Linking Ring.
In the February 2010 "Card Corner" article, Mike Powers implies that he happened to come across a credit for the trick he's publishing, thanks to the The Jinx tribute published in the October 2009 issue of Genii. He writes:
"It was originally published by Ted Annemann in a book of tricks as well as in an early Jinx. The (Henry) Christ effect is called "Stop When Ready."
Here's what Powers and his Editor are omitting:
"Stop When Ready" is found in The Jinx 74 (page 496).
Which I wouldn't call an "early" Jinx; at best it's a "middling" issue since it occurs almost dead-center of the publication's run.
I don't know which Annemann book he is referring to, but the chronology is likely wrong. It's more likely that the trick appeared in The Jinx first, and then was re-published in a book, but I'm happy to be corrected about this conjecture.
